Membership Types

Workplace Savings NZ has three types of membership - Organisation, Individual and Workplace Savings Professional.  The following information will help you decide which type of membership is appropriate for you, your organisation, or scheme.

 Organisation Member

This membership is for Trustees and Managers of retirement savings funds (each in that capacity), Employer Participants in Master Trust arrangements, as well as other service providers to the retirement savings industry, along with other companies or bodies interested in matters affecting savings arrangements made available through the workplace, or in financial literacy in the workplace.

Workplace Savings NZ has three categories of organisation membership, to help better segment our constituents.  They are:

  • Licensed Managers and Restricted Schemes - Licensed MIS Managers, DIMS Managers (or to become licensed under the FMC Act 2013); or Restricted Schemes (or to become so designated under the FMC Act).
  • Employers - An employer who is not licensed as a MIS Mananger or a DIMS Manager; OR an employer exclusively offering a workplace retirement savings opportunity for its staff through a Master Trust arrangement.
  • Service Providers - company/organisation that offers professional services to the retirement savings industry.

An organisation membership is great value as it covers all employed staff by the Scheme, Employer or Service Provider.  There is no need to renew individual subscriptions within the organisation, or specify who is eligible to receive membership benefits.

 Individual Member

This category of membership is for individuals interested in matters affecting savings arrangements made available through the workplace, or in financial literacy in the workplace.  Membership is held in the name of the individual applicant.  Individual members enjoy the same valuable membership benefits as Organisation members. Please note, no more than two people employed by the same organisation can apply for individual membership.
